7th Grade Statistics Project

Posted Date: 05/27/26 (01:28 PM)

Students in 7th grade math in Miss Wilgus’ class recently completed a statistics project that challenged them to think like real statisticians. The students were tasked with investigating a claim of interest to them that could help answer the question "What claims about our school are true and how can we prove them with data?" Students used their claim to create a statistical question and devised a sampling plan that would avoid bias. After gathering and analyzing their data, students organized their findings using dot plots and displayed their work through presentations or tri-fold boards. To conclude the project, students explained their results and determined whether their original claim was accepted or rejected based on the evidence they collected.
