Welcome to Crenshaw Middle School
Where did it go? The school year will soon be over and summer vacation will begin.
It has been a very busy year with many highlights. Our students have worked hard to build a tradition of success here at Crenshaw Middle School. They were engaged in many enriching learning activities within their classrooms, working with our dedicated staff. May you and your families have a sensational sum-mer filled with good health, fun, and relaxing activities.
8TH GRADE RECOGNITION
Parents of 8th graders are cordially invited to attend our 8th Grade Awards Program on May 31st, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. in our gymnasium. Many students will be honored for their achievements. Following the assembly, a reception will be held in the cafeteria. Parents are welcome to sign their students out early. Eighth grade students may return in the evening for the 8th grade dance. It is the culminating event to end the year for our 8th graders.
NOTES ON THE 8TH GRADE DANCE
The dance for all 8th grade students is Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 6-7:30 PM. Students are to dress NICELY. No T-Shirts or jeans. Dress shoes preferred. Young ladies may NOT wear dresses which are strapless or have spaghetti straps. Wear a cover-up if this applies to your dress. Limousines are not necessary. This is not a prom. It is simply a dance.
7th to 8th GRADE SCHEDULING
Teachers are in the process of recommending students for various levels of classes such as algebra and science for high school credit. Much like their schedule this year, students will be enrolled in their four core classes (math, lan-guage arts, social studies, and science) and several of our exploratory offerings (P.E., art, music, Gateway to Technol-ogy, band, or choir). Homeroom assignments will be posted on the front doors of the school approximately one week before school starts in August.
END OF YEAR
Fees: Please check with the office or your student's teachers for balances owed. Damaged books, candy money, library fees, etc. must be rectified before the end of the year. All fees must be paid before you will receive your student's report card. We appreciate your help in getting fees paid in a timely manner.
After June 5th, unpaid fees may be turned over to collections and/or accompanied by a theft report with the Canton City Police Department. Thank you for your attention in this matter.
Report Cards: Report Cards will be mailed home after June 6, 2012
Address Changes: If you anticipate a change in your address or phone number, please communicate this to our school office. Our office will close for the summer on June 8, 2012 and reopen on August 2, 2012.
Expect the Great!
